Focus on patient care

Managed Document Services from TA Triumph-Adler reduce costs in the healthcare sector

Hospitals are there to treat patients. Who wouldn't agree with this statement? TA Triumph-Adler GmbH is there to help hospitals. Manfred Bielemeier, IT Manager with Hamburg-based Klinikgruppe Dr. Guth, would certainly agree with this statement. He has reduced his output costs thanks to a solution from TA Triumph-Adler. Jürgen Marx, Commercial Director of the Sankt Elisabeth Krankenhaus in Kiel, who has been using the "DIDO" digital document management concept from TA Triumph-Adler for thepastyear, would also agree.

Nuremberg, 29 November 2011.
After one and a half years of co-operation with TA Triumph-Adler, the specialists in the document business, Bielemeier can report a positive result: "The analysis and forecast of the TA experts proved to be correct." With the TOM (Total Output Management) concept from the DMS experts in Nuremberg, processes now run much more smoothly than before – which is good news for patients.

This is the kind of feedback that André Polkowski, Sales Manager at TA Triumph-Adler Norddeutschland GmbH, likes to hear. +He is an expert in his field and his job is to support hospitals in particular in their efforts to improve their customer and patient focus: "Hospitals have to process enormous volumes of patient data and files efficiently and have this information readily available. The data has to be archived for up to 30 years, which requires an extremely well organised system."

At the same time, hospitals find themselves faced with the conflicting challenges of dealing with budget pressures and reducing costs on the one hand and maintaining a focus on their primary role as providers of patient care on the other.

Managing paper-based processes
The successful co-operation between TA Triumph-Adler Norddeutschland and Klinikgruppe Dr. Guth is proof that this is possible: "With the help of Total Output Management (TOM) from TA Triumph-Adler, we have been able to achieve savings of more than ten percent in our paper-based processes, particularly in the print area. And this comes despite our stipulation that the number of devices was not to be reduced," says the IT Manager, clearly pleased with the results.

Digital document organisation
Jürgen Marx, Commercial Director of the Sankt Elisabeth Krankenhaus in Kiel, has had an equally positive experience with the "DIDO" digital document management concept from TA Triumph-Adler: "It delivered what it promised. We made a good decision." When you have to juggle issues such as availability and tight time windows, you need a partner you can rely on.

For just over a year, the document management system from TA Triumph-Adler has been helping to ensure that patient files on paper can be digitised quickly and cost-effectively in the Kiel hospital. Even archiving will eventually lead to problems due to lack of space - costing both money and space that could be better used elsewhere.

"Thanks to the digital archiving system, all of the documentation relating to a patient can be made available to all authorised persons with just a single click – making the work of doctors and hospital administrators much easier," explains TA Triumph-Adler expert André Polkowski. More and more hospitals are recognising the need for a partner with the necessary experience in order to achieve cost-effective and efficient consolidation of existing digital patient files with analogue documents. Furthermore, data can be sent directly to other doctors with just a single click, which means that there is no possibility of a patient arriving at his local GP surgery before his data.

More time for patient care
TA Triumph-Adler GmbH has extensive experience in the healthcare sector as a leading provider of Managed Document Services (MDS) in Germany. The specific challenges facing hospitals are a subject particularly close to the heart of Guiscardo Pin, COO of TA Triumph-Adler: "We need to provide efficient solutions to hospitals, which are struggling under enormous cost pressure. The focus remains firmly on the patient, with savings being made in relation to cost drivers such as document management without compromising on patient care." Pin stresses that an intelligent, cost-effective system ultimately benefits patients: "The hospital has more room for staff, particularly in times when there are skills shortages, and medical staff have more time for spending with patients instead of chasing up files."
