Family Centre Sperberstraße – Nuremberg/Südstadt
Brief profile:
Child daycare facility for children, with 83 places for children aged between 3 and 8 years.
Philosophy and main focus:
- Learning through play
- Movement
- Design
- Relationships and social skills
Movement is a way of exploring and discovering the world. Socially deprived children in particular spend too much time in front of the television, where they are "thwarted", "pacified", "dumped". Consequently, the main emphasis at this daycare centre is on movement, free expression and free play. The teachers trust in the child’s own developmental abilities, supporting their independent fulfilment and encouraging the children’s own natural urge for movement.
How the foundation’s funds are utilised
"We support parents by vividly documenting the “learning history” with photos, text and videos. That way, they can understand their children even better and can offer them the ideal conditions for learning and self-fulfilment. Studies from America have shown that the living and development conditions for children can be sustainably improved by supporting parents in the educational field. 'Parents learn, just as children do' - For us, this slogan stands for our cooperation with our children's parents."
