"Triple A" – The banking industry relies on TA Triumph-Adler

Document management with a healthy balance sheet

The customer base of TA Triumph-Adler includes over 2,000 financial services providers, who regularly record top marks in customer satisfaction analyses thanks to the savings potential of up to 20 percent that they achieve with solutions from TA Triumph-Adler. Volksbank Sulmtal has been relying on the experience of TA Triumph-Adler, the market leader in the document business, since 2009. Thoroughly satisfied with the implementation of Total Output Management (TOM), the cooperative bank has already renewed its contractual relationship for the coming year and is set to conclude a new six-year contract at the beginning of next year.

Nuremberg, 16 August 2011 – Customer orientation and a network of ten offices providing a strong local presence are among the USPs of Volksbank Sulmtal, which employs 75 people and serves around 12,000 customers. The banking house recorded above-average growth in a number of areas in 2010 and ended the year with a balance sheet total of € 320 million. This success comes thanks to smooth-running internal processes – including document management.

Reliable partner
Götz Hengerer, who is responsible for procurement of the technical infrastructure at the cooperative bank, has in TA Triumph-Adler found a partner who provides everything from a single source and is familiar with the specific requirements of his organisation. Thorsten Brammann, Project Manager at TA Triumph-Adler Baden-Württemberg, has acquired expertise through the successful implementation of more than 1,500 systems in the cooperative sector alone as a document consultant.

Less is more

The merging of the Sulmtal cooperative banks led to an accumulation of copiers, printers and fax machines from numerous manufacturers. "The toner supplies alone took up an entire shelf. When a device broke down, we were often left with a stack of unused toner cartridges. If this device was then replaced, we had every reason to be in a bad mood,“ explains Hengerer.

"Where fax machines, copiers and printers once stood side by side, there is now just a single multifunctional system,“ says Brammann.

Reducing the number of machines and freedom from time-consuming administrative tasks were key objectives when Volksbank Sulmtal chose Total Output Management (TOM) from TA Triumph-Adler. The IT infrastructure was standardised, the hardware inventory was reduced by around one third and material procurement and support have subsequently been automated.

Today, around 50 systems cover the total demand for Volksbank Sulmtal. The equipment has also been updated, which means that it is now also much more efficient than before. Hengerer explains the improvements: "For minor issues, employees can either resolve the problem themselves or contact the support team. Given the fact that the team moves around frequently, the standardised menu structure is advantageous, as it means that employees use the same functionality no matter where they are based.“

The systems can easily be managed via the network and the Accounting Box solution continuously monitors the status and material requirements. "If I need a printer for one of the offices tomorrow, I can call the support team and the machine will be there on time,“ says Götz Hengerer, clearly pleased with the fact that he now has more time for technical advice. After all, time is money.

Flexible response
In the face of constantly changing statutory requirements, Volksbank can rely on the rapid modification options of its IT infrastructure. Documentation requirements are on the increase and options for virtual customer transactions are limited due to the continued importance of signatures on paper. Volksbank Sulmtal prints around 70,000 black-and-white and 6,000 colour pages every month.

"The core of our concept is making life easier for our customers,“ explains Brammann. "The cooperative banks have to respond continuously to amendments in legislation. This leaves very little time for dealing with the issue of hardware compatibility.“ For Götz Hengerer however, this is an issue that he no longer has to concern himself with. Should a new directive land on his desk tomorrow morning, he doesn’t have to worry about system support – Thorsten Brammann will provide him with a solution.
