Triumph 1915 - 1930

Triumph sets new standards with its legendary ÔKnirpsÕ, the first German motorbike with a two-stroke engine.
Light, economical and powerful Ð these are all the advantages of this elongated, low-slung machine. The virtually indestructible Knirps becomes the hit product of the 1920s. For thousands, the jaunty little bike is their first taste of motorised transport.

TriumphÕs new typewriter business wins over the stenotypists working in offices.
In 1921, the company produces 3,000 typewriters, exceeding pre-war production levels by a full 1,000 units. Even the bicycle industry is regaining momentum. Triumph uses its skill and dedication to overcome inflation.

Record contract from the German Postal Service for 600 Triumph typewriters for the telegraph division. This is the largest order for typewriters to date placed in Germany. The general agency Horn & Gšrwitz in Berlin is responsible for winning the order. CEO Oskar Gšrwitz had constructed a telegraph machine based on a Triumph typewriter.

The new Model 10 typewriter from Triumph causes a sensation.
The machine astounds with its amazingly light and pleasant keystrokes. Its sophisticated technology meets even the strictest demands for fast typing. Purchasers can choose between seven widths of cylinder, from 24 to 78 cm. The famous Model 10 is one of the finest office machines on the market.

Pope Pius XI uses the Model 10 for typing:
"Am delighted to report Holy Father expressed greatest pleasure with triumph typewriter and gives his blessing for well-being of management and workers of triumph", telegraphs Cardinal Menotti in 1928 from the Vatican. Italy is a cornerstone of TriumphÕs export business.

Triumph is the first office machine company in Germany to introduce serial mass production techniques.
A new product line of small typewriters is released. Development and sales and marketing co-operation with Adler. Slightly modified Triumph standard typewriters are sold as ÔAdlerÕ machines.
