23.09.2009: Innovative document solution from TA Triumph-Adler enables significant cost reduction at University Hospital
Patient care at the highest level – this is the priority at the Saarland University Hospital. Because clinics and hospitals are being subjected to ever-increasing cost pressure, modern and efficient workflows are essential in order to make savings. This is the only way to ensure that the budget is used where it is needed: on the patients. For this reason, the Saarland University Hospital has entrusted its entire output management to the KAM (Key Account Management) division of TA Triumph Adler AG, the TA Triumph-Adler Corporate Consulting GmbH (TA-CCO). In the selection of a provider, TA-CCO not only impressed as expert in the implementation of large projects, but the specialist for efficiency in the document business also convinced with the service offering “James”. Here, for example, the company provides additional service personnel at weekends, in order to ensure smooth operation of sensitive areas of the hospital, such as the emergency unit.
Bonn, 23.09.2009 – All clinical areas from A to Z are represented at the Saarland University Hospital. In 36 clinics and institutes, over 50,000 in-patients and more than 180,000 out-patients are treated annually. The hospital is also active in the area of research, where the main focuses are on genetics and diagnostics as well as the treatment of widespread diseases.
Just as diverse as the areas of activity at the University Hospital was the office equipment encountered by TA-CCO on its first visit. At the hospital there was a heterogeneous system environment with regard to model diversity as well as to the manufacturer structure. “Especially in large institutions like the University Hospital, many different models are accumulated over the course of time, as time and again systems have to be purchased or replaced. However, these non-standard system landscapes consume huge amounts of money”, says Frank Eismann, Managing Director of TA-CCO who, together with his team, is responsible for the KAM division of the TA Triumph-Adler Group across Germany. He and his document consultants have a wealth of experience in the healthcare sector. Over 700 clinics and hospitals already use the nationwide offering of TA Triumph-Adler for greater efficiency in document management.
The changeover was preceeded by an operationally-focussed hardware quality audit. During the subsequent concept development for an optimal workflow, the document consultants gave particular attention to the requirements of the customer, who placed great importance on the highest degree of flexibility and optimal print quality. In addition, the new TA-CCO concept provided for a standardised system landscape with 1,500 systems from only one manufacturer. In this way, the hospital is able to achieve significant savings.
An additional argument for the University Hospital to entrust its document business to TA Triumph-Adler was the unique service concept “James”. And it certainly does its name justice. In addition to an in-house service with two permanent technicians and a recovery time of only three hours during normal service periods, a background service is also available to the hospital at the weekend. This is particularly important, as sensitive areas such as, for example, the emergency unit or the ambulances must always function properly.
