23.07.2009: TA Triumph-Adler is a market leader

TA Triumph-Adler AG, the specialist in efficiency in the document business, recently celebrated an important milestone with the installation of its 200,000th printer and copier system under contract. This record-breaking figure was reached during modernisation of the document management of St. Nikolaus-Stiftshospital GmbH in Andernach. Thanks to the new output solution from Bonn-based TA Triumph-Adler Corporate Consulting GmbH (TA-CCO), the hospital can expect to achieve savings of around EUR 70,000 in the area of document management over the next five years.

Bonn, July 23, 2009 - TA Triumph-Adler now has more than 200,000 MIF (machines in field) for more than 34,000 satisfied customers, making the company a true market leader. Frank Eismann, Managing Director of TA-CCO and responsible for the project at St. Nikolaus-Stiftshospital, is delighted at this record-breaking achievement: “The figures show that we have made a name for ourselves as specialists in the document business. Our aim is to further consolidate our position in the market.“ TA Triumph-Adler is particularly active in the healthcare sector and the Stiftshospital Andernach project came about as a result of a verbal recommendation. Hans-Peter Mayer, Process Management & IT Team Leader, recalls the selection process: “In the course of our search for a suitable solution for our internal document management processes we were in discussions with several providers. In the end we based our decision on the impressive references of TA Triumph-Adler and the personal recommendations from hospitals already using solutions provided by the company.“ TA Triumph-Adler is currently active for more than 700 clinics and hospitals across Germany.

Increasing cost pressure in the healthcare sector made it necessary to modernise processes at the Andernach hospital. “We intend to use the savings that we make in our internal workflows in other areas for the benefit of our patients. Our primary objective is to provide our patients with the best possible care“, says Mayer. The hospital has a capacity of 267 beds and operates as both a general hospital and a teaching hospital for the University of Bonn. The campus is also home to the Marienstift senior citizen centre, which offers 130 residential places.

When the specialists in efficiency in the document business first arrived at the hospital they were faced with a scenario that they have seen many times before, with different printing systems from a number of different vendors in use. The explanation for this situation was fairly simple: “When buying equipment, our decisions were based primarily on the purchase price“, explains Mayer. “We rarely considered the follow-up costs for consumables.“ The results of the analysis therefore came as something of a revelation: “Take ink cartridges, for example. We were stockpiling cartridges for printers that were no longer in use“, recalls Mayer.

A further benefit of the new solution for employees at St. Nikolaus-Stiftshospital is the fact that they no longer have to procure consumables for the systems themselves. The document business specialists supply the hardware, software and consumables from a single source and take charge of the control and maintenance of the office system.
