02.06.2009: TA Triumph-Adler demonstrates solutions for efficient management in the healthcare sector
The experts attending the Capital Congress on Medicine and Health 2009 to discuss future developments in healthcare were all agreed that the sector is facing significant challenges as the effects of the economic crisis continue to be felt in the medium term. In other words, savings must continue to be made. Robert Feldmeier, Spokesman of the Management Board of TA Triumph-Adler AG, gave a speech to more than 100 delegates in which he explained how companies operating in the healthcare sector can deal with the threatened loss of revenue and start to make savings immediately.
Nuremberg, June 2, 2009 - It is widely accepted that it takes several months for the effects of economic fluctuations to be felt in the labour market. The number of people unemployed is thus set to rise in the coming months. Experts reckon that statutory health insurance providers will experience a shortfall amounting to billions of euros due to a decline in contributions. "The best way that companies in the healthcare sector can prepare themselves for this scenario is by thinking ahead and analysing and optimising internal process flows with a view to reducing costs," says Feldmeier. He explains that around one out of every three euros spent in IT goes towards the printing, faxing and copying of documents. "Most companies aren't even aware of this fact. If you take a closer look at the area of document management, it is clear that there is significant untapped savings potential within most companies," continues Feldmeier.
With its TOM (Total Output Management) consulting and analysis concept, TA Triumph-Adler carries out a detailed analysis of the document management cost structures of its customers. The efficiency specialists in the document business then develop a concept for an optimum workflow that is tailored to the individual requirements of the company. Significant savings can be achieved by standardising hardware systems and outsourcing device maintenance, with no negative impact on the existing IT infrastructure. "Many decision-makers are not even aware that only around five per cent of total printing costs are actually due to the printer hardware. The remainder is spent on installation, driver updates, administration and asset management. The majority of costs are therefore due to unforeseeable time outlay," explains Robert Feldmeier. This statement is backed up by the experience that TA Triumph-Adler has acquired in the more than 700 projects that it has successfully completed in the healthcare sector to date.
