07.10.2008: Document management across multiple sites for Getrag

Getrag Corporate Group, a worldwide leading provider of transmission and drivetrain systems, is adapting its document management structure to its international corporate identity. TA Triumph-Adler Baden-Württemberg GmbH, specialist for efficiency in the document business, is installing customised office systems at the six German Getrag locations as well as in Kechnec (Slovakia) and Bari (Italy). These systems can also communicate with one another using Slovak characters, which means that it is possible to transfer data not only between the German sites in Untergruppenbach, Cologne, St. Georgen, Rosenberg, Neuenstein and Ludwigsburg, but also with the Getrag facility in Kechnec.

Fellbach-Schmiden, October 7, 2008 – 133 customised standard office systems to be delivered in mid-November should ensure that Getrag employees in Germany can communicate with their counterparts in Slovakia. In Untergruppenbach, where Getrag Corporate Group has its headquarters, roll-out was successfully completed at the start of September. TA Triumph-Adler systems will be installed at the other locations in the coming weeks. TA Baden-Württemberg successfully won out over all of its competitors in the market to secure this contract. Its trump card: “As a company with international operations, Getrag requires customer service across Europe. TA Triumph-Adler fulfils this requirement perfectly”, explains Eginhard Bönsel, (project manager and key account sales and marketing employee). He planned the installation of all systems and is at the same time responsible for roll-out at all six Getrag locations.
One of the main priorities for the Getrag Group, which employs more than 12,000 people worldwide, is the provision of comprehensive and extremely flexible customer service: “In an international organisation, the failure of office systems could lead to major losses. Our guarantee to restore devices to operating condition within four hours in the event of damage was therefore crucial for Getrag.” When awarding the contract, Getrag also stipulated that all office systems meet the requirements for SAP software.
The organisation of a workflow across multiple sites, the installation of standardised office systems and the control and maintenance of these systems by TA Baden-Württemberg offer numerous advantages for Getrag, helping the transmission manufacturer to reduce its administrative expenditure and document management costs. The excellent service provided by TA Baden-Württemberg also makes the working lives of Getrag employees easier. The POMS (Paper Output Management System) software developed in-house by the Fellbach-Schmiden-based company automatically reports to the service provider when toner or paper is low. TA customer service also delivers consumables directly to the customer on-site, which means no more time-consuming ordering of toner and paper.
