25.06.2009: TA Triumph-Adler is a sponsor of the historical exhibition about Clärenore Stinnes’ journey around the world

Extreme heat in the Syrian Desert, swampland on the way to Novosibirsk and impassable terrain in the Andes. When Clärenore Stinnes became the first person to drive around the world in a car more than 80 years ago – in a brand new Adler Standard 6 – she faced numerous dangers and difficulties. This summer, a dramatised documentary about her adventurous journey will be shown in German cinemas. The accompanying exhibition, “Fräulein Stinnes fährt um die Welt” [Fräulein Stinnes Travels Around the World], also tells the story of the daughter of an industrial magnate from the Ruhr. The exhibition opens on Sunday, 28th June in the Technikmuseum Freudenberg. One of the exhibition’s sponsors is TA Triumph-Adler, the long-standing company from Nuremberg, who developed the Adler Standard 6 under the auspices of the Adler factory in Frankfurt and who provided Clärenore Stinnes with the vehicle for her expedition.

Nuremberg, 25th June 2009 – Together with her team, Clärenore Stinnes embarked from Frankfurt am Main on her trip around the world in the summer of 1927. The dramatised documentary film portrays a woman who sets out on her 48,000 km journey with courage and self-confidence. Using a mixture of original recordings and dramatised sequences, the film recounts one of the most unusual adventure and love stories of the 20th century. Starring roles are played by the young actress Sandra Hüller, who takes the part of Clärenore Stinnes, and by an Adler Favorit from 1930. Only 2,500 original Adler Standard 6s were built, therefore a similar model had to be found which then underwent extensive restoration for the film. The car from the film, the Adler Standard 6, is also the centrepiece of the exhibition, in which numerous other original exhibits from the trip around the world can be seen. Visitors are invited to experience the daring journey on the basis of the original route taken. “Clärenore Stinnes displayed extraordinary courage when she set off on her journey,” said Robert Feldmeier, Spokesman of the Management Board of TA Triumph-Adler AG. “As the first woman to drive around the world, Fräulein Stinnes was a pioneer who wanted to discover and experience new things. Her story must not be forgotten. That is why we are supporting this exhibition.”

TA Triumph-Adler AG has shared Clärenore Stinnes’ pioneering spirit right up to the present day. Although TA Triumph-Adler no longer produces cars, the company is a leader and a specialist with respect to efficient document management for companies. TA Triumph-Adler is the only company in this field that combines the expertise of a manufacturer with the know-how of a corporate consulting company. “Without the Adler Standard 6, Clärenore Stinnes wouldn’t have got very far. She had to concentrate on the route and on overcoming difficulties – therefore the technology had to be reliable. Today, our motto for our customers is rather similar. Customers should not have to concentrate on document management but on their core activities. We take care of everything else,” explained Feldmeier.

Today, TA Triumph-Adler provides sophisticated analysis and consulting concepts and a comprehensive software range for document management systems as well as the relevant hardware, from copiers and printers to fax machines. TA Triumph-Adler is a market leader in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and intends to develop an even stronger presence on the international market in the future.

The “Fräulein Stinnes fährt um die Welt” exhibition is open from 28th June to 30th September 2009 inclusive at the Technikmuseum Freudenberg and from 9th October to 15th November in Wilnsdorf. More information is available under www.fraeulein–stinnes.de.
