Ad-hoc Announcement, 10.08.2006
TA Triumph-Adler AG holds firmly to its targets for the year; sales and operating result continuing to increase
Nuremberg, August 10, 2006: The TA Triumph-Adler Group increased sales in the first six months of fiscal year 2006 by 3.2 % to € 174.3 million, after generating € 168.9 million in the same period of the previous year. At € 86.7 million, sales in the traditionally weaker second quarter were 4.3 % up on the previous year’s quarter, and were only around € 0.9 million below those of the first quarter.
The company, which specializes in document business efficiency, generated an operating result (EBIT) of € 6.3 million. This figure includes a valuation adjustment of € 1.9 million for a claim against a guarantee insurer. At its Annual General Meeting the company had already reported on the pending legal dispute, which has now been settled out of court quicker than expected and with a better outcome than planned. The operating result (EBIT) for the previous year’s reporting period was burdened by a write-down for a silent participation and amounted to € 2.5 million.
The half-year result before minority interests improved by € 2.4 million to give what is now a net loss for the quarter of € 0.3 million. The company is keeping firmly to its targets for the year of generating net income in the lower single-digit millions on moderate sales growth. In this respect TA Triumph-Adler makes reference in its current quarterly report to areas such as the continuing growth of market penetration by TOM (its analysis and consulting approach), strong growth in the sales of printers and very good market acceptance of the new generation of color devices that is now available.
The balance sheet total came to € 427.9 million on June 30, 2006, and was therefore 1.4 percent above the figure of € 422.1 million on December 31, 2005. The increase in the balance sheet total was primarily due to an increase in receivables and liabilities from financial leasing which resulted from broadening the refinancing volume via sale-and-leaseback. The equity ratio is stable at a solid 11 %. The net cash provided by operating activities came to € 18.2 million in the first half of the year following a net cash used for operating activities of € 2.4 million in the same period the previous year. As of June 30, 2006, TA Triumph-Adler had liquid funds of € 13.6 million at its disposal following € 13.2 million at the end of fiscal year 2005.
On June 30, 2006, there were 1,472 employees in the group (previous year: 1,497 employees).
